Write To Me

Oak Cliff Cultural Center 223 Jefferson Blvd., Dallas, TX, United States

Write to Me features artists incorporating text in their work. As individuals, they are graffiti artists, sign painters, tattoo artists, graphic designers, and fine artists. While their materials and process differ, their exploration of various letterforms, whether as a dominant element or as creative texture, generates a conversation and unites the work in the exhibition. Curator Carlos Donjuan gives context to the dynamic possibilities of artists working with textual elements saying, “Imagery can be very powerful in art, but text can really drive a message across on many different levels when combined with visuals.”
